Our very best Pinot Noir. Drinking beautifully now, and will get better with age. 100% single vineyard fruit from low cropping two caned rows of our Ward Vineyard. This is a pure expression of what makes the vineyard so special.
Crimson red in colour, this wine has intriguing aromas of forest floor, kirsch cherries and red liquorice with hints of subtle spice. The juicy palate shows a lovely purity with notes of vibrant red currant. This wine has an elegant tannin structure, complemented with a lingering savoury finish.
Situated 130 meters above sea level, this unique vineyard is located near Ward in Marlborough's far south east, nestled amongst the foothills of Mt Victoria where a cool micro climate, elevation and deep clay soils provide ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir. This wine will pair perfectly with game bird dishes and barbequed lamb rack.
