We asked Dave Clouston, one of Marlborough's best young winemakers how the 2016 vintage went for him, here's what he had to say:
"2016 has been in all honesty a rather challenging harvest with a combination of a record breaking drought over summer and then substantial early harvest (heavy) rainfall. We have had to work harder than ever this year to produce high quality wines and thank fully Marlborough dodged a bullet by receiving a very warm, dry Indian summer. The wines will be bright, charming and full of ripe citrus notes but may not have the concentration and mineral drive of 2015. In saying that I think the quality of fruit that was harvested for Snapper Rock was exceptional and I think we will produce the best wines under this label to date."
